Dancing in Asylum

From my first book, Dancing in Asylum, a snippit from the title poem:

You are a child who dreamt of King Arthur,
opened your mother’s jewelry box and
danced to the chimes, you are
the wetness of a young woman’s love
and the ashes of airmen
and the siren of grief
and my womb.
When the accordian player comes once a month
to play in your retirement home,
you are the only one to dance,
so they tell me,
you dance and you dance.
